Give us a go!

We are always keen to meet new singers. All levels are welcome, although the repertoire can be challenging. Rehearsals run through term-time, culminating in end-of-term concerts. These are usually held at Holy Cross Church in Fulham and St Mary's Church at Putney Bridge with organ, piano and instrumental accompaniment, or occasionally a larger venue if a full orchestra is involved. An auditioned group of choir members sing two additional Christmas carol concerts at Fulham Palace and St Mary’s. Soloists are typically young guest professionals.
Main Choir singers do not need to audition. If you are interested in joining, simply email or phone to arrange to come along to a rehearsal with no commitment, and judge for yourself if Fulham Camerata is right for you. Ability to read music is not an absolute must; we provide learning tools to help you practise the pieces in your own time. Attendance at all rehearsals is expected.

To enter the Ensemble there is an audition with our music director and chair of the committee.  We also offer annual choral scholarships, typically to young professionals still at music college or who have recently graduated.

Membership fees are £65 per term, or £35 for students and under-25s. Members further purchase music scores, which are provided, and a pair of reduced-price concert tickets.
Rehearsals are 7.30-9.30pm on Tuesdays at Holy Cross Church, Bettridge Road, Fulham SW6 3QA (map).
Parking is free in the surrounding streets.  The nearest tube is Parson's Green.

Member support

Rehearsal files are provided to help members become familiar with their parts. These are midi files, readily playable on most computers. Different versions emphasise whichever of SATB you sing. Click here to go to the rehearsal files website, then log in using the username and password set up for you by the choir secretary.

Singing lessons with our composer-in-residence, Ben Rowarth, can be arranged. These are usually on Tuesdays and optionally can take place alongside choir rehearsals. Ben teaches all voice parts and is happy to focus on either the choir's current pieces or other repertoire, as preferred.

The choir's calendar, click here to view, is maintained with dates and times of all rehearsals, concerts and other choir events. Rehearsal descriptions include the intended rehearsal schedule as it becomes known, allowing singers to prepare for the evening's music.  To subscribe to the choir calendar within your own Google, Apple or Outlook calendar, click here on your desktop PC or laptop.
